ILSCO(R) Announces UTILICO(R) Power Grip(R) Hot Line Connectors Passed ANSI C119.4 Test In a Salt Fog Chamber

Cincinnati, OH, February 8, 2002 (For Immediate Release) - ILSCO, a Cincinnati, Ohio manufacturer of electrical connectors, is pleased to announce UTILCO Power Grip Hot Line Connectors passed the ANSI C119.4 test in a salt fog chamber.

In August 2001 NEETRAC (National Electric Energy Testing Research & Applications Center), a Center of the Georgia Institute of Technology, performed the 500-cycle test to evaluate four UTILCO Power Grip Hot Line Clamp Connectors Model # SCH-63640. The test conforms to the requirements of ANSI C119.4, but it is even more rigorous as it was run in a salt fog chamber to simulate a high-contamination environment. All connectors passed the ANSI C119.4 requirements for connector performance.

Power Grips are designed for high current overhead and equipment tap applications. These patented UTILCO connectors feature a direct drive eyebolt that is in line with a "V" shaped jaw creating a mechanical wedge that assures a constant three point loading on the connection. Grooves in the jaw serve to remove cable oxidation thus improving the integrity of the connection as it is being installed. Power Grips accommodate multiple sizes of conductors in both the main and tap side of the connector.

UTILCO offers a full line of electrical utility connectors and accessories. ILSCO and ILSCO Canada offer over 6,000 types of electrical connectors as well as specialized solutions for any tapping, splicing or terminating challenge.
