GELcore Launches GE Tetra(TM) LED Lighting System For Channel Letter Industry

Valle View, OH - January, 2002 - Strengthening its position as a leading LED systems provider, GELcore recently announced production of the patent-pending GE Branded Tetra(TM) Channel Lighting System. Tetra is currently the only UL listed LED system for signage applications.

Tetra is an innovative product that transforms the signage industry from aging technology to a robust, high brightness LED solution. System tests have proven that Tetra is up to 80% more energy efficient than red neon.

One of the most significant benefits of the Tetra LED system is its ability to streamline the assembly of channel letters. That flexibility makes ease of installation and low maintenance a reality for sign companies, maintenance contractors and end users. Tetra is shipped in convenient reels, which can be cut to size on location. GELcore's patent-pending design enables Tetra to be used in new or retrofit applications with a wide array
of sign script fonts.

In addition to facilitating a faster, more efficient installation process, Tetra is more resilient than neon, effectively eliminating concerns of breakage during the shipping and installation process.

"Tetra's design will effectively save companies time and money during installation and throughout the life of the product," said April Bertram, Product Manager for GELcore. "This lighting system can easily be transformed to accommodate the sign script styles of companies replacing existing channel lighting systems such as neon."

By combining the most essential features - reliability, flexibility, and energy efficiency, Tetra offers significant cost savings with tested GE quality.

GELcore LLC is a joint venture of General Electric Company and EMCORE Corporation. GELcore is dedicated to developing innovative LED systems for lighting applications.
