Damping Material stops noise and vibration in equipment.

February 5, 2002 - ISODAMP® C-1000 Series thermoplastics, highly damped vinyl materials provide vibration isolation, shock protection and noise control. Three formulations are available as standard and custom-molded isolators. Materials exhibit extremely low amplification at resonance and quick return to system equilibrium after shock or vibration input. ISODAMP C-1002 performs in range from 13 to 41 deg C; C-1105 from 27 to 54 deg C; and C-1100 from 35 to 63 deg C.

E-A-R Damping Material Stops Noise And Vibration In Equipment

ISODAMP® C-1000 Series thermoplastics, highly damped vinyl materials from E-A-R Specialty Composites, provide vibration isolation, shock protection and noise control in a wide range of medical devices. Three formulations-C-1002, C-1100 and C-1105-are
available as standard and custom-molded isolators, such as grommets, bushings, and equipment mounts and feet. C-1002 and C-1105 are extruded as sheet or roll materials as well, and come in a variety of standard thicknesses.

As molded isolators, ISODAMP materials exhibit extremely low amplification at resonance and quick return to system equilibrium after shock or vibration input. ISODAMP grommets, mounts and isolators, therefore, are ideal for use in equipment
with small motors or pumps, such as diagnostic devices, infant incubators and other machinery used in proximity to patients.

As sheets and roll materials, these thermoplastics are easily and cleanly cut into energy-absorbing strips, gaskets and shock pads. They can isolate mechanized devices from adjacent surfaces, decouple interconnecting frames and components, and provide efficient constrained-layer damping for machinery housings and cases.

The three ISODAMP formulations are temperature-tuned, to offer the optimum combination of stiffness and damping in three discrete temperature ranges. ISODAMP C-1002 is formulated to perform in a range from 13 deg C to 41 deg C; C-1105 from 27 deg C to 54 deg C; and C-1100 from 35 deg C to 63 deg C.
