Bosch Delivers longest Range Active Infrared Imaging System for Critical Applications

GVS1000 provides high quality images at one kilometer in complete darkness

  • Full Detection, Classification, Recognition and Identification (DCRI) performance in total darkness
  • Integrated day/night, pan/tilt/zoom surveillance solution for critical security applications
  • Meets highest level of performance for night-time surveillance

Bosch Security Systems has announced the GVS1000 Long Range Imaging System, the security industry's longest-range active infrared imaging system, which provides an integrated day/night, pan/tilt/zoom surveillance solution for critical security applications.

The GVS1000 system provides full Detection, Classification, Recognition and Identification (DCRI Detection, Classification, Recognition and Identification) performance in total darkness, meeting the highest level of performance for night-time surveillance. With one kilometer of recognition-level performance and1.2 kilometers of classification-level performance, the GVS1000 can deliver scene details necessary to determine whether an object or person is friend or foe, such as clothing, letters or numbers, even in complete darkness.

This level of imaging gives users information needed to make important security decisions and is often required for critical applications such as port and maritime monitoring, transportation and airport surveillance and border and extended perimeter security that requires long range 24/7 imaging. Such scene detail at long range is often impossible to obtain with other night-time surveillance technologies, such as thermal imaging.

The GVS1000 is equipped with advanced optics, such as an IR-corrected, long range lens capable of 60x optical zoom with night vision capabilities beyond 1.2 kilometers. With a focal length of 12.5 to 750 millimeters or 25 to 1500 millimeters (with double function engaged), the lens works together with the high-performance Dinion XF sensor to produce ultra-high quality images at long distances in day and night conditions.

The GVS1000 uses two sets of active infrared illuminators for both long- and medium-to-short range night-time imaging, eliminating safety concerns commonly associated with laser-based infrared systems. Infrared illumination can be controlled manually or can be configured to turn on and off automatically using a photocell.

A high precision pan and tilt motor and a rugged all-weather design, including a weatherproof housing and integrated wiper, ensure that the GVS1000 is suitable for precise imaging in the most extreme weather environments.
