FREMONT, Calif. -(October 29, 2009)- Phihong, one of the most trusted names in power electronics, has developed a new, energy-efficient 10W wall mount adapter series. Available in 5- and 9VDC outputs, the PSC12x Series consists of five versions: A, E, K, S, and C, each of which features a country-specific fixed outlet plug. PSC12A adapters are equipped for use in the United States, PSC12E for Europe, PSC12K for the United Kingdom, PSC12S for Australia and New Zealand, and PSC12C for China. Ideal for wireless communications, portable equipment, networking, and peripherals, all versions of the PSC12x Series are ENERGY STARŪ EPS Version 2.0 (Level V)-compliant.
"Similar to our interchangeable plug adapter series, the PSC12x series provides OEMs with energy-efficient, internationally compatible power solutions, while also providing a cost-effective alternative to the aforementioned series for applications that do not require international interchangeability," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong.
Phihong's PSC12x Series adapters are double insulated, meet Class B EMI standards, and feature short-circuit protection with auto-restart, as well as over-current and over-voltage protection. Per ENERGY STAR Level V efficiency standards, all models in the series feature a power draw of less than 0.3W at no-load. Additionally, average operating efficiency for 5VDC models (PSC12x-050) is greater than 73.4%, and for 9VDC models (PSC12x-090) is greater than 76.6%.
Regarding safety markings and approvals, PSC12A adapters (U.S.) feature cUL/UL, PSC12E adapters (Europe) feature CE, PSC12S adapters (Australia) feature SAA and C-Tick, and PSC12C adapters (China) feature CCC. Additionally, models designated for use in the United Kingdom (PSC12K) and European Union (PSC12E) also bear TUV safety approvals.
PSC12x Series adapters are rated for operation from 0° C to +40° C.
PSC12A models measure 2.82" x 1.77" x 1.93", terminate with a 2.1mm x 5.5mm center positive standard DC output connector, and weigh 2.65 ounces. Dimensions for other models may vary.
