Vishay Releases New 142 RHS Series of Radial, 105 °C Aluminum Capacitors With Capacitance Values up to 22,000 µF at 10 V and Ripple Currents to 3100 mA at + 105 °C

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - Oct. 30, 2009 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of a new series of radial aluminum capacitors that offers very high capacitances, high ripple currents, and high-temperature operation up to +105 °C.

The devices are available in 15 case sizes, ranging from 5 mm by 11 mm to 18 mm by 40 mm. Their enhanced maximum temperature rating of 105 °C allows operation at higher temperatures or extends component life compared to standard 85 °C series. Additional features include a high rated ripple current to 3100 mA at +105 °C, and a capacitance range from 1 µF to 22,000 µF over a voltage range of 10 V to 450 V.

As a polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a non-solid electrolyte and radial leads, the device's specifications make it ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, buffering, and voltage decoupling applications in SMPS and dc-to-dc power supplies for industrial and telecom systems, domestic appliances, and portable and mobile electronics.

The 142 RHS capacitors offer a very long useful life of 2500 hours at +105 °C. The RoHS-compliant devices are charge- and discharge-proof, so there is no peak current limitation.

Samples and production quantities of the 142 RHS capacitors are available now, with lead times of 14 weeks for larger orders.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., a Fortune 1,000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH), is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, rectifiers, MOSFETs, optoelectronics, and selected ICs) and passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, sensors, and transducers). These components are used in virtually all types of electronic devices and equipment, in the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical markets. Its product innovations, successful acquisition strategy, and "one-stop shop" service have made Vishay a global industry leader. Vishay can be found on the Internet at http://www.vishay.com.
