Edmund Optics® Showcases Expanded Line of Imaging and Machine Vision Lenses

October 29, 2009, Barrington, NJ. - Edmund Optics (EO), the premier provider of optical components, today announced that it greatly expanded its line of TECHSPEC® imaging and machine vision lenses, adding more than thirty EO designed and manufactured lenses including TECHSPEC fixed focal length and telecentric lenses to its catalog and website. These new lenses will be showcased at November's Vision Show in Stuttgart in Hall 4, Booth A15.

Demands of the market inspired the design of these new lenses, which enhance EO's application solutions to offer the best available choices for successful inspection, imaging, and vision system applications. The expanded offerings includes four different product lines: TECHSPEC Compact Fixed Focal Length lenses, TECHSPEC Compact Telecentrics, TECHSPEC Large Format Telecentrics, and TECHSPEC High Resolution Telecentrics. All feature high quality manufacturing, OEM pricing, and quick delivery. EO also offers custom solutions for customers with unique application needs.

The popular EO TECHSPEC Compact Fixed Focal Length lenses are designed with the working distance and resolution requirements of factory automation and inspection in mind. The lenses support imaging sensors as large as 2/3-inch and are available in focal lengths of 8.5 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm, 25 mm, and 35 mm. A broadband antireflective coating offers improved light transmission, making these lenses suitable for even the most restrictive lighting conditions.

Telecentric lenses offer low distortion and distance-independent magnification, making them ideal for metrology and gauging applications in machine vision. The TECHSPEC Compact Telecentrics offer 65 mm and 110 mm working distances at magnifications ranging from 0.5x to 4x. The TECHSPEC Large Format Telecentrics support sensors up to 28.7 mm diagonal with 4M pixel resolution and come in a variety of magnifications and camera mount styles. The TECHSPEC High Resolution Telecentrics support sensors as large as 2/3-inch with 5M pixel resolution and comes in 0.28x, 0.5x, 0.9x and 1.7x magnifications.

Price and Availability

EO Compact Fixed Focal Length lenses start at $250 and the Compact Telecentrics start at $495. The Large Format Telecentrics start at $2450 and the High Resolution Telecentics start at $1950. These new imaging lenses are in-stock and available for immediate shipping. Please contact sales@edmundoptics.com for OEM pricing or custom requirements.
