Diode Array protects high-speed data interfaces from ESD.

November 2, 2009 - Supplied in lead-free, 2 x 2.2 mm, 5-pin SC70 package, MAX14541E protects 3-channel data interfaces from ESD spikes up to ±15 kV (Human Body Model). Input capacitance, rated at 6 pF typ, prevents signal distortion in high-speed applications. Meanwhile, leakage current of less than 1 nA results in minimal impact for end application. Array is specified over -40 to +125°C range and suits glucose meters, cell phones, media players, PDAs, and other portable applications.

Tiny ESD-Protection Array Guards High-Speed Data Interfaces in Portable Devices

Diode array withstands spikes up to ±15kV (HBM) for three ports.

Features low input capacitance, negligible leakage current, and a tiny SC70 package

SUNNYVALE, CA-October 12, 2009-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX14541E, a diode array that protects 3-channel data interfaces from ESD spikes up to ±15kV (Human Body Model). A low input capacitance of 6pF (typ) prevents signal distortion in high-speed applications. Meanwhile, the IC's ultra-low leakage current of less than 1nA minimally impacts the end application, making the device a natural choice for designs requiring accurate current measurements. The MAX14541E is well suited for glucose meters, cell phones, media players, PDAs, and other portable applications.

Packaged in a lead-free, 2mm x 2.2mm, 5-pin SC70, the MAX14541E is fully specified over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range. Prices start at $0.39 (1000-up, FOB USA).
