Saelig Debuts Embedded Modem Device Server Offering Easy Worldwide Email, FTP, TELNET Access
Low Power, High Protection Modules Require No Software Drivers
Pittsford, NY, USA: Saelig Company, Inc. (Saelig) (www.saelig.com) has announced the availability of the WorldModemNET module - a dialup device server with ISP service. It includes an embedded TCP/IP stack with a simple extended AT command structure, so no TCP/IP knowledge is needed to perform tasks such as sending emails, connecting to FTP sites or initiating a TELNET session. This makes it a simple addition to embedded products needing remote accessibility.
Designed as an OEM module, WorldModemNET features a high speed ARM processor core for managing the dialup modem interface and TCP/IP stack. If required, the TCP/IP stack may also be bypassed completely, allowing users to operate the module as a standard fax modem. WorldModemNET is fully Internet enabled, supporting all popular protocols including UDP, DNS, HTTP client, PING, FTP and SMTP. It requires only 65mA maximum (3.3V or 5V versions) and provides 5kV of isolation.
In addition, the product offers universal world phone network compliance, allowing WorldModemNET to be plugged into a phone network, anywhere in the world, without adding components. All isolation and protection is provided on the module. The World Modem NET comes with a transferrable FCC Part 68 license, CE and other certifications.
Since all protocol details are taken care of by WorldModemNET, no special drivers are needed to initiate a TELNET session - WorldModemNET manages the entire link. All that is required is the ISP phone number and server addresses, which are supplied via simple AT commands. When a command is executed, WorldModemNET automatically connects to the Internet, performs the task and provides the user with results. When properly designed, no hardware changes are needed to migrate from the WorldModem family to WorldModemNET, WiFi or Ethernet products. RS-232 and USB models are available upon request.
WorldModemNET modules are now available from Saelig. For detailed specifications, free technical assistance, or additional information, please contact Saelig (toll-free in the US) 1-888-7SAELIG, via email: info@saelig.com, or visit www.saelig.com.
