Emerson Network Power Delivers High Availability at Low Cost for Small Spaces with Liebert PSI UPS System
Columbus, Ohio [October 22, 2009] - Recognizing the increasing importance of reliable IT systems to businesses of all sizes, Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity(TM), today announced the availability of the Liebert PSI uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system. Available worldwide, the product provides reliable and economical line-interactive backup power protection for smaller IT spaces, including network closets, IT rooms and home offices.
The Liebert PSI gives users five minutes of battery backup at full load as well as the ability to remotely monitor and shutdown connected equipment via Liebert MultiLink software. The UPS is rack/ tower convertible and is available in 1000VA, 1500VA, 2200VA and 3000VA in 120V and 230V models. All models have eight battery-backed outlets, transient voltage surge suppression, and include an RJ-45 port for data line surge protection. The Liebert PSI ships with batteries connected and charged to reduce installation time and costs. A two-year, no-hassle warranty is included with all units.
An optional Network Solutions package includes the Liebert PSI with a factory-installed Liebert IntelliSlot® Web Card, which delivers simple network management protocol (SNMP), Telnet and Web-management capabilities for enhanced communications and control. This package is the most economical and convenient method to deploy the UPS with network-compatible communications.
"In today's wired world, IT reliability is crucial for businesses of every size-even those with limited IT budgets," said Matt Kightlinger, director of solutions, Emerson Network Power's Liebert business. "They can't afford to compromise when it comes to power protection, because any kind of downtime can be a blow to the bottom line. The Liebert PSI provides a solution that fits small spaces and tight budgets, but provides big-time availability."
The Liebert PSI meets strict environmental guidelines by complying with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS). RoHS prohibits the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacturing of electronics, making them more environmentally friendly at the end of their life. Additionally, the Liebert PSI has a .90 power factor rating, making it ideal for today's higher power factor IT equipment.
For IT applications requiring more battery time, the currently available Liebert PSI-XR UPS provides the same power protection features and configuration options as the Liebert PSI, but offers optional matching battery cabinets for extended battery runtime. The Liebert PSI-XR also is RoHS-compliant.
