Interconnect System features fully sealed design.

October 22, 2009 - Maintaining low and stable contact resistance under severe temperatures and vibrations, MX123(TM) System is optimized for transportation power-train applications. Matte seal technology allows close-to-center terminal spacing and eliminates need for crimping individual cable seals, while interfacial seal is interior to connector shroud, protecting it from damage during harness handling. Header pins are protected from scooping by center wall that extends longer than terminal length.

Molex's Innovative MX123(tm) Fully Sealed Interconnect System Optimized

Molex's Innovative MX123(tm) Fully Sealed Interconnect System Optimized for Transportation Power-Train Applications

OEM-proven interconnect system now available to general market, ideal for on-engine automotive applications, off-road construction and industrial equipment

LISLE, Ill. October 20, 2009 - Molex Incorporated (NASDAQ: MOLX AND MOLXA) announced today the general availability of its innovative, OEM-proven MX123, a fully sealed, high-performance interconnect system optimized for transportation power-train applications. The MX123(tm) system maintains low and stable contact resistance under severe temperatures and vibrations and is ideal for on-engine automotive applications, off-road construction and industrial equipment.

The MX123 system uses interfacial and matte-seal technologies to optimize sealing performance and reduce package size and harness-assembly complexity. It features a matte seal technology that allows closer-to-center terminal spacing and eliminates the need for crimping individual cable seals. The interfacial seal is interior to the connector shroud, protecting it from damage during harness handling. Plus, the header pins are protected from scooping by a center wall that extends longer than the terminal length.

"Based on 064- and 280-size terminal systems, the MX123 provides optimal electrical performance in high-vibration applications such as small diesel and turbo engines," said Scott Reynolds, global product manager for Sealed Connector Systems, Molex Incorporated. "In fact, the 064-size terminal system has increased normal force and selective precious plating required to maintain performance characteristics in the most
demanding environments."

The MX123 lever receptacles mate with the MX123 vertical headers, and are designed to provide flexibility by offering two mounting-style options, three PCB electrical strategies and multiple-plating options. They can be vertically mounted from the top or bottom of a casting. The headers are available for through-hole solder processing, compliant-pin, or wire-bonding technologies with precious gold or silver plating.
