Controlled Impedance Interconnects maximize PCB real-estate.

October 20, 2009 - Featuring 5 mm body and .8 mm pitch, Q RateŽ System (QRM8/QRF8 Series) controlled impedance interconnects employ Edge Rate(TM) contact system. Contacts, combined with integral metal power/ground plane rated to 8.9 A, promote optimal electrical performance, while 1.2 mm contact wipe distance improves allowable angle during mating/unmating. Performance rating is 9.5 GHz SE and 8.5 GHz DP at 7 mm stack height and -3 dB insertion loss.

Samtec Introduces High Performance, RUGGED Slim-Body Interfaces

The Q RateŽ System is Samtec's next generation of high speed, controlled impedance interconnects featuring its rugged Edge Rate(TM) contact system. The contacts, combined with an integral metal power/ground plane (rated to 8.9A), provide superior electrical performance, while its slim 5mm body design makes it ideal for applications with limited PCB real estate.

The .8mm (.0315") pitch Q RateŽ High Speed System (QRM8/QRF8 Series) boasts a performance rating of 9.5 GHz SE and 8.5 GHz DP at a 7mm stack height and
-3dB insertion loss. This performance is achieved with the assistance of its Edge Rate(TM) contact system. The design and positioning of the contacts and ground plane minimize the effects of broadside coupling which decreases crosstalk between pins.

The contact system also provides for high cycles and low insertion/withdrawal force and features a long 1.2mm contact wipe distance which improves the allowable angle during mating and unmating.

Q RateŽ Interfaces are available in a vertical orientation with 26, 52, or 78 contacts per row (52 per bank) and a choice of standard stack heights from 7mm to 10mm. Optional guide posts are also available, and a right angle version is in development.

Pricing begins at $ .10 per cents per mated line (including cost of integral
ground plane).
