Digi Launches All-in-One 3G Cellular Router with Wi-Fi, GPS, Telemetry and Enterprise-Class Security

MINNETONKA, Minn. (Oct. 13, 2009) - Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) today introduced the Digi TransPort WR44, an all-in-one enterprise-class cellular router with integrated Wi-Fi access point. The multi-function Digi TransPort WR44 provides high-speed connectivity to remote devices by combining a 3G cellular router, state-of-the-art security, advanced routing, an Ethernet switch, global positioning system (GPS), telemetry and Wi-Fi access point all in one device. This unique combination of enterprise-class features and flexible wireless functionality makes the router ideal for connecting remote devices in vertical applications such as transportation, remote office and retail point-of-sale.

"The Digi Transport WR44 has all the functionality of enterprise-class routers but with a vertically focused feature set designed for specific industry applications such as transportation, public safety, remote office, retail and financial."
The Digi TransPort WR44 can be used as a mobile hotspot in transportation applications such as in public safety vehicles, or on a bus, train, van or ship. It is also ideal for providing both primary and back-up connectivity to remote office networks. High-end security features also make the product perfect for point-of-sale applications such as remote payment processing within a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) approved network.
The Digi TransPort WR44 features diverse power options, multiple mounting options, a rugged design, local scripting, advanced dynamic routing, state-of-the-art security and firewall features including stateful packet inspection and integrated IPSec VPN. Enterprise-class protocols incorporate BGP, OSPF and VRRP+, a patented technology built upon the popular VRRP failover standard providing true auto sensing, auto failure and auto recovery of any line drop.
Digi TransPort WR44 is a multifunction router with flexibility for industry-specific device connectivity options. Various configurations are available including multiple serial ports (async or sync), GPS or I/O telemetry modules, a USB port and a four-port Ethernet switch. Additionally, the Digi Transport WR44 can be fully managed using Digi's Remote Manager software for easy setup, configuration and maintenance of large installations. It also features a best-in-class 5-year warranty.
