Siverge Networks Unveils Comprehensive Chip Solution for Mobile Backhauling Infrastructure

Highly Integrated Wireless Universal Gateway Solution Accelerates Time to Market and Lowers Total Cost of Ownership (TCO); Allows Seamless Evolution of Mobile Networks

HERZLIYA, Israel, Oct. 12 /-- Siverge Networks, a leading supplier of advanced networking solutions, today announced a low-cost, high-performance, Wireless Universal Gateway chip solution for next generation mobile backhauling infrastructures. The new offering, known as the SivGate(TM), extends Siverge's Griffin(TM) family of products and consists of an ASIC and a powerful FPGA core, enabling a unique combination of high performance, reduced power, accelerated time to market and a lower TCO.

As carriers and service providers struggle to create profitable businesses with bandwidth intensive data services, many organizations are looking for solutions that can increase their capacity, evolve their infrastructure and improve their margins. Particularly, on the long way towards all-IP networks, the inevitable co-existence of multiple networks for 2G, 3G and emerging LTE supported by multiple backhauling infrastructures is creating substantial Capex and Opex overheads and increasing inefficiency.

Up until now, wireless and backhaul equipment manufacturers were forced to use a combination of framers, mappers, and complex processor designs which could not deliver the bandwidth, scalability and integration levels needed to meet the demands of performance and profitability.

Siverge's SivGate(TM) addresses this challenge with the Wireless Universal Gateway solution that fully supports any generation of mobile network, network interface and backhauling infrastructure. It's compliant with all the required physical interfaces (Ethernet, PDH, SONET/SDH), as well as complete set of associated Layer 2 data and bundling protocols (i.e. ATM/IMA and HDLC/MLPPP) along with CES and PWE3, QoS and TM. Using SivGate(TM) based linecards, that are designed to fit any existing or new network equipment, enables seamless implementation and expansion of any generation of mobile network, regardless of the available network interface type or backhaul infrastructure.

"By enabling our customers with a powerful, high performance solution that exceeds their requirements, we are in turn helping to evolve the network infrastructure which will pave the way for a new set of high-margin services and applications," said Moshe De-Leon, President and Chief Technology Officer for Siverge Networks. "Our advanced wireless universal gateway solution is designed with the customers' requirements in mind and addresses their need for a comprehensive high-performance solution that delivers increased capacity at a lower cost."

Siverge is offering both a low cost low speed version of the SivGate(TM) solution, enabling economical system solution for cell sites aggregation, and a high performance solution for the network side for high speed multi-service operation at significantly lower cost as compared to any solution available in the industry today.

Details

Siverge's solution is based on unique Flexible Hardware architecture utilizing the following building blocks:

-- Optimized ASIC hardware implementation to process standardized protocols in layers 1 and 2, fully configurable to any mapping or framing of protocol and channels.

-- Optimized FPGA hardware implementation for all Circuit Emulation flavors, legacy protocol pseudo-wire and packet processing offering different flavors and customization for customers

Different versions of components all share the same software environment and hardware interfaces, yet are differently optimized for services at low speed 155Mbps applications up to high speed of 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps applications. Thus, with Siverge, equipment manufacturers can develop a single universal solution for the mobile backhaul, scaling it from low to high speed to fit the needs at different locations of the network.

Siverge's Wireless Universal Gateway is extensively evaluated by leading system manufacturers worldwide and was already selected for designs by major customers.

Availability

The solution is available today and pricing begins at $200.00.
