Leviton Power Light(TM) Plugs and Connectors Show Power Status at a Glance

Little Neck, New York, December 11, 2001 -- Leviton Manufacturing's Industrial Products Division has introduced a line of Industrial Power Light™ (PL) Plugs and Connectors that are ideal for any workplace environment where quick visual identification of power status is desired for enhanced safety or convenience. The Power Light PL plugs and connectors contain a factory-assembled, pre-wired power light located in the body of the device. It emits a glow through the transparent lens on either the plug or connector when the power is ON. When the devices are de-energized and current is no longer present, the power light switches OFF.

Leviton's Power Light Plugs and Connectors are especially suitable for mission-critical situations where teams of workers are deployed to "rush-to-assist" emergencies that require long portable cord runs where quick visual confirmation of the power status helps streamline set-up of vital power connections. In assembly areas of manufacturing environments, the Power Light Plugs and Connectors are ideal for overhead buss-duct power cord drops. In industrial maintenance environments, they can be specified for use in difficult-to-access areas or preventative maintenance zones with limited access to receptacles. They are also suitable in commercial applications for connections of critical processing equipment or mainframe computers; in entertainment lighting and sound connections; and, in hospital patient care areas.

Leviton Power Light Plugs and Connectors are available in 15, 20 and 30 Amp 125 Volt straight-blade and locking configurations. 15 and 20 Amp straight-blade versions feature a green neon bulb rated at 30,000 hours. 20 and 30 Amp locking devices feature a green LED rated at 100,000 hours. The bulb assembly is factory installed and requires no additional steps when wiring the devices. The green power light confirms the power status at the plug or connector. All devices feature catalog and NEMA numbers printed on the cord clamp to assist with product identification. Power Light devices are available in Black and White. all Black, and Transparent to satisfy a wide range of application requirements.
