ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 5 -- Raritan today expanded its intelligent power management portfolio with the introduction of a dual-voltage power distribution unit (PDU) with multiple outlet types. The DominionŽ PX-5652 provides flexibility at the rack by enabling a variety of IT equipment to be plugged into the same rack PDU.
Raritan made the announcement at AFCOM's Data Center WorldŽ 2009 conference being held this week.

The new three-phase Dominion PX-5652 has 24 outlets -- three 120V NEMA 5-20R outlets, 18 208V IEC C-13 outlets, and three 208V IEC C-19 outlets. It provides accurate individual outlet-level metering -- including voltage, current, power factor, apparent power (kVA), active power (Watts), and kilowatts per hour (kwh) energy consumption -- and room temperature and humidity information through optional sensors.
With built-in intelligence, connectivity and security, and a remote graphical user interface (GUI), PX-5652 out-of-the-box is prepared to handle key power and energy issues in today's data center. It provides real-time information to help make decisions, such as where servers should be placed for optimal efficiency. If power or environmental user-defined thresholds are exceeded, PX-5652 sends email-based alerts and SNMP traps. It also can remotely power sequence IT equipment from anywhere.
The PX-5652 is designed to be compatible with Raritan's Power IQ(TM) energy management software, which helps analyze the volumes of device-level power data collected by Raritan and third-party PDUs and in-line meters. The award-winning analytics software tracks power consumption and generates an array of useful energy reports. The information can be used for 'what if' analysis, to track energy consumption changes, find rack capacity, calculate carbon footprints and to bill back energy costs to internal departments or customers.
