Multimedia SoC meets broadcast distribution demands.


October 8, 2009 - Designed with algorithms that generate optimal output video quality at minimal bit rates, XCode® 4125 lets broadcast and professional OEMs develop encoder/transcoder products for cable/satellite/IPTV/enterprise encoder applications. It allows processing of multiple HD streams and integrates 1,200 DMIPS processor as well as variety of peripherals: TS inputs; TS outputs; PCI interface, MII/GMII, DDR2/3 memory interface; serial interfaces. Xtensiv(TM) Broadcast Stack is also included.

New XCode(R) 4125 System-on-Chip based Solution Incorporates Leading Edge Broadcast Video and System Solution Software to Advance the Performance of Broadcast Equipment

Rapid growth in adoption of HD programming, increase in number of digital channels, deployment of VOD (Video-on-Demand) services, and advanced video format adoption such as H.264 are leading to growth in demand for next generation video processing, encoder and transcoder products. XCode(R) 4125 enables Broadcast & Professional OEMs to develop best-in-class high performance and high density encoder/transcoder products for cable/satellite/IPTV/enterprise encoder applications, while at the same time featuring an extremely low power system solution. Designed with algorithms that generate excellent output video quality at the lowest bit rates, XCode(R) 4125 enables Broadcast & Professional OEMs to provide innovative video processing solutions to support new revenue generating opportunities for operators worldwide. XCode(R) 4125 is a follow-on to XCode(R) 3000 series products already designed in by leading broadcast & professional OEMs.

XCode(R) 4125 SOC takes advantage of high speed transcoding/transrating/encoding engines to allow processing of multiple HD streams. XCode(R) 4125 also integrates a powerful 1200 DMIPS processor allowing customers to run custom applications to manage the encode/transcode process. The chip includes a wide variety of peripherals as well (TS inputs; TS outputs; PCI interface, MII/GMII, high-speed DDR2/3 memory interface; serial interfaces) for a highly integrated system solution.
