Sunrise TelecomŽ Debuts Complete Solution for Business Ethernet Service Testing
GigE Module shortens installations and troubleshooting of Ethernet services
SAN JOSE, CA, September 29, 2009 - Sunrise TelecomŽ Incorporated (Pink Sheets: SRTI), a leader in test and measurement solutions for telecom, wireless and cable networks, today introduced the GigE Module for the Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) Platform. This highly anticipated module meets the urgent need for cost and time savings in business Ethernet service verification. The handheld, dual-port, dual-media module helps technicians of all levels validate service level agreements, verify traffic prioritization and decrease mean time to repair by quickly isolating problems.
A tier 1 European broadband carrier recently commented that for them to maintain their leadership, it's of the utmost importance to ensure fast deployment and unmatched QoS, which is why they rely on Sunrise Telecom's MTT - and now the GigE Module.
Maintaining prioritized quality of service (QoS) on differentiated services means the network must be tested with traffic that closely resembles real scenarios. With the GigE Module, technicians can verify traffic prioritization and routing through the active device by sending multiple streams with different tags. To ensure quality of experience (QoE) for the customer, the GigE Module generates and measures up to eight independent streams per port with different MAC, VLAN, IP and MPLS configurations, and displays statistics for each individual stream.
"The GigE Module's comprehensive functions validate QoE over QoS for growing business Ethernet services. The modular design of the MTT cost effectively simplifies the multi-service installation and maintenance for service providers," said Olga Yashkova, analyst, Measurement & Instrumentation, Frost & Sullivan.
This simple tester helps solve complex problems, making it easy to analyze and locate service impacting problems and troubleshoot the network. By injecting errors in specific streams, the GigE module can quickly pinpoint, isolate and diagnose problems in the network.
"As Ethernet technology becomes pervasive, service providers are challenged to cost-effectively deploy and maintain services and networks. To achieve profitability, they must decrease time to revenue," said Bahaa Moukadam, Sunrise Telecom's chief executive officer. "Our new GigE Module helps roll out new services faster than ever, dramatically cutting the time it takes to resolve problems, and drive even higher customer satisfaction."
The GigE Module is part of the MTT modular handheld platform. With more than 50,000 units deployed, the MTT solution provides field technicians the industry's broadest range of testing capabilities for installation, troubleshooting and maintenance. MTT users can quickly and easily switch between different testing applications and services.
The GigE Module is immediately available from Sunrise Telecom. For pricing information, contact Sunrise Telecom at 800-701-5208 or visit the company's web site: http://www.sunrisetelecom.com/sales/reps.shtml.
