September 29, 2009 - Wheelock Exceder(TM) series fire notification appliances include strobes, horns, and horn strobes with 5 mounting options that can be installed on single circuit. Appliances feature exterior candela windows, with 8 candela settings, and voltage test points. Universal mounting base features cover that protects contacts from dirt and paint and also shunts circuit for spotting wiring errors. Operating from dual 12/24 Vdc, units are ADA/NFPA/UFC/ANSI and OSHA 29, Part 1910, 165 compliant.

Long Branch, N.J., September 22, 2009 - Cooper Notification, an operating unit of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE:CBE), announced today the launch of their new line of Wheelock fire notification appliances under the brand Exceder(TM). The Exceder(TM) series of strobes, horns and horn strobes for wall and ceiling mount applications offer the best combination of features. The eight candela settings and five mounting options on one appliance provide industry first innovation and the lowest total cost of ownership. Installers and building owners alike will benefit from Wheelock's latest advancement for fire notification.

Meeting today's code requirements, the Exceder(TM) series offers the perfect combination of sleek modern style and efficiency. The appliances feature low current draw, providing building owner's substantial cost-savings through achieving the maximum amount of appliances that can be installed on a single notification circuit.

Equipped with visible candela windows on the outside of the appliances, tool-less setting changes, voltage test points, dual 12/24 VDC operation and a universal mounting base with multiple mounting options, this new line of Exceder(TM) strobes, horns and horn strobes are easy to install, and allow for quick inspection and routine maintenance. The mounting base includes a contact cover to protect contacts from dirt and paint and allows the ability to shunt the circuit to check for common wiring errors.
