Along with active die option that eliminates scratches during processing, TruPunch 5000 features moveable die that allows total distance between table and punch to be used for forming. Active forming stroke from below sheet increases flexibility by enabling use of larger tools, and marking from underneath is also possible. Operating with up to 1,400 strokes/min, machine processes sheets up to 0.3 in. thick, has 4,600 ipm max simultaneous xy speed, and offers 25 tons of punching force.
FARMINGTON, Conn., September 12, 2009 - TRUMPF's TruPunch 5000 is already recognized throughout the industry for its speed, productivity and ability to produce work pieces with minimal scratches. However, the latest generation of the machine provides even greater flexibility-thanks to its increased speed and the new active die option, which virtually eliminates scratches during processing. With the active die, each time the sheet is positioned, the die is lowered slightly so that it does not contact the sheet. The moveable die also expands the forming possibilities of the machine since the total distance between the table and punch can be used. In addition, the active forming stroke from below the sheet increases the machine's flexibility because larger tools may now be used; even marking from underneath is now possible.
In addition, the new generation of the TruPunch 5000 operates about 10 percent faster than its predecessor, with 1,400 strokes per minute for medium format and 1,200 strokes per minute for large format. This means 200 more strokes without using more energy. The TruPunch 5000 can process a maximum sheet thickness of 0.3 in.
Two other ways in which the TruPunch 5000 is fast: It only takes 2.8 seconds to change tools, and only 0.3 seconds to change the tools within the MultiTool. As a result of weight-optimized components and tool cartridges, the x-axis accelerates to a maximum speed of 3,900 inches per minute or 65 inches per second. Another special feature is the gantry drive of the y-axis.
Two separate motors are controlled synchronously without a mechanical connection, thereby creating speed and accuracy.
Working range of the TruPunch 5000 (X,Y) is 100x50 in. and 120x65 in, respectively. Punching force is 25 tons and maximum simultaneous xy speed is 4600 inches per minute.
The TruPunch 5000 can be automated modularly with a variety of components, such as the SheetMaster and a cart system with belt drive or tracks, for the automatic loading and unloading of sheets, as well as the GripMaster, which removes and stacks scrap skeletons. The ToolMaster tool storage unit has up to 70 additional spaces and, TRUMPF compact and universal storage systems offer flexible solutions for automated production.
