Vicon Introduces More Powerful, H.264-Ready Kollector Network DVRs at ASIS 2009, Booth 2511
Hauppauge, NY, September 16, 2009: Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of integrated IP video surveillance and access control systems, will introduce a new generation of its popular Kollector DVRs next week at the ASIS International Exposition in Anaheim, California.
The two new models, named Kollector Strike and Kollector Force, offer faster and more powerful video processing in a smaller chassis than previous Kollector models, and do so at a significantly lower price. In addition, both models offer network connectivity, supporting local and remote IP and megapixel cameras as part of an open platform ViconNet video management system. They support 480 frames-per-second across 16 channels of video and are H.264-ready.
The Kollector Strike stands a compact, 1 rack unit high; the Kollector Force measures 3 rack units high. The larger, Kollector Force includes an analog video matrix with 4 local inputs to 4 local outputs as well as 16 analog video looping outputs. Both models are offered with internal storage configurations of up to 4 TB. External storage of up to 36 TB is available.
"While 'IP video' is certainly the buzzword within the security and surveillance marketplace these days, DVR-based systems still offer the most cost-effective and popular option for smaller installations and those with analog cabling already in place. Our new Kollector Strike and Kollector Force offer our customers the best of both worlds, providing the immediate benefits of a DVR but with the expandability and functionality of an NVR-based system," explains Margie Gurwin, Vicon's Director of Marketing.
The new Kollector models will be available for shipping this fall. For more information on Vicon and its products, visit www.vicon-cctv.com.
