Type AA & BB Threaded Metal Insert Fasteners from Yardley Products Eliminate Unsightly Knurl Teeth from Surface of Molded Parts

Yardley, PA - Yardley Products Corporation, a manufacturer of precision engineered threaded metal insert fasteners, today announced the offering of the Yardley Type AA and Type BB Standardized Molded-In Inserts designed for applications which demand an aesthetically clean appearance.

"Both Type AA and Type BB inserts feature either a smooth ring or chamfer on the ends which are designed to hide the knurl teeth from view on the surface of the molded part," said Tim Bailey, President at Yardley Products. "This feature allows the inserts to be used in applications where aesthetics are of concern."

Available in a variety of sizes from .169" to .516" diameter, lengths from .156" to 1.00", and a range of U.S. thread sizes, the Type AA and Type BB insert fasteners vary slightly.

The Type AA inserts feature a smooth ring on the outside diameter that eliminates knurl teeth from view on the surface of the molded part while the Type BB inserts utilize two chamfered ends on the outside diameters to achieve the same effect.

Another difference can be seen in the insert holes. Holes are tapped to maximum depth in the Type AA variety, creating a blind end to protect the threads from plastic intrusion. The Type BB inserts feature holes tapped the entire length of the insert.

Designed for molding in plastics, rubber, and ceramics, Yardley Type AA and Type BB threaded metal inserts can be found in computers and terminal boards, automotive, electronic equipment, business machines, aerospace, communications equipment and instrument cases.

Both Type AA and Type BB threaded metal insert fasteners have close tolerance of minor thread diameter and careful burnishing of inner thread crests to assure snug fit on locating pins. In addition, the Class II threads found in the inserts meet A.S.M.E. (U.S.) specifications. Available materials included brass or stainless steel. Metric threads and custom sizes and materials are available for special order.

Yardley Type AA and Type BB molded-in threaded metal inserts are available for purchase online at www.yardleyproducts.com or by contacting Yardley Products at 800-457-0154.

In addition to Type AA and Type BB molded-in threaded metal inserts, Yardley Products manufactures a full line of standard and custom press-in, molded-in, epoxied-in, self tapping, ultrasonic, and thermal insert fasteners.
