PIERS TI 3.0 provides a single, integrated interface for conducting highly specific targeted searches of the most comprehensive database on U.S. waterborne trade for all imports and exports. PIERS TI's report-creation function has been enhanced. Where the previous generation product offered a menu of report templates, the new generation provides the menu of templates plus a second menu of options to customize the layout and content of the end-product, a report in PDF format. For example, users can group results by a category of their choosing -- commodity or destination -- and order results within each group by a choice of measures.
Users may also opt for at-a-glance visual presentations of their findings. A choice of graphics show top rankings or month-by-month trends for parties to the trade, commodities traded, and markets or sources as measured number of shipments, their estimated values, weights, or TEUs (twenty-foot-equivalent units -- the standard measure for container shipments).
