Lightel Introduces the DI-1000 Digital Inspection Video Microscope for Fiber Networks

Lightel Technologies, Inc., which last year introduced the first integrated 3-in-1 video microscope for inspection, cleaning, and testing of fiber optic networks, adds a new USB digital inspection probe to its growing inspection product family.

RENTON, Washington, Aug. 20, 2009 -- Lightel Technologies, Inc. today announced the release of its new DI-1000-digital video microscope for fiber optic connector inspection. Connecting directly to a PC through the USB port, the DI-1000 features ergonomic design, one finger focusing, and a built-in image freeze/capture button. Software based digital zoom is also available as a standard feature.

The DI-1000 comes with Lightel's free ConnectorView software which provides image display, image capture, auto-calibration, and basic analysis tools. The DI-1000 can also use Lightel's soon-to-be-release ConnectorView Plus software which will provide automatic pass/fail analysis and reporting.

Lightel has a history of innovation within the fiberoptic industry. The CI-1000 set a new standard of portable video microscopes. Lightel's patented ViewConn® was the first video microscope offering inspection and cleaning in one hand-held unit. ViewConn plus was the first to offer inspection of both male and female connector endfaces without changing tips. And last year's VC-6100-OPM added that important third step - testing, becoming the only integrated hand-held inspection, cleaning, and testing unit in the industry.

"With the DI-1000 and upcoming ConnectorView Plus software, Lightel continues to show the leadership and attention to industry trends that our customers have come to expect," said Ted Bartunek, Lightel's sales manager for inspection and cleaning products.
