Industry's Smallest Overvoltage Protectors with USB Charger Detection and ESD Protection

Add USB charger detection and overvoltage protection to your portable device.

SUNNYVALE, CA - June 10, 2009 - Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX14529E/MAX14530E overvoltage protectors (OVPs) with USB charger detection. These devices employ an integrated MOSFET to protect low-voltage systems against voltage faults up to 28V, thus eliminating the need for an external nFET. Additionally, the MAX14529E/MAX14530E provide high-current USB charger detection and robust, ±15kV ESD protection (Human Body Model)-all in a 3mm² package. Offering the industry's smallest solution footprint, these OVPs are ideal for cell phones, media players, PDAs, and other space-constrained applications.

The MAX14529E/MAX14530E are available in a tiny, 1.5mm x 2mm, 12-bump wafer-level package (WLP), and are fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. Prices start at $1.40 (1000-up, FOB USA).
