Abrasive Ceramic Media is suited for use on delicate parts.

August 4, 2009 - Characteristically lightweight and clean, all-natural DURALITE® is formulated without synthetics or resins to ensure instant, constant, and aggressive cutting action throughout mass finishing operations. DURALITE II, which excels on machined aluminum parts as well as fragile/delicate parts and castings, offers alternative to plastic media for light deburring and surface conditioning on softer metals. New Product: Duralite (R)

Washington Mills Ceramics Corporation's DURALITE® was developed for use in mass finishing equipment, on delicate parts; and as an alternative to plastic media. DURALITE is commonly used on machined aluminum stampings/parts and fragile castings requiring a lighter weight. DURALITE is characteristically fast-cutting, aggressive, lightweight and clean.

DURALITE ® II is a light weight, 100% abrasive, all natural ceramic media with an excellent cut-to-water ratio. It is formulated with no synthetics or resins, so its cutting action is instant, constant and aggressive throughout the mass finishing operation. DURALITE II excels on machined aluminum parts and fragile/delicate parts and castings requiring a lighter weight to reduce the chance of warping; as an alternative to plastic media for light deburring and surface conditioning on softer metals; or where effluent regulations are a concern.

DURALITE II-S has the same properties and usage applications, but includes the introduction of silicon carbide abrasive which provides a mild cutting action where faster cycle times are required.

DURALITE products combine the proper mix of density, cut, finish and economy needed to outperform plastic - with an environmental edge to warrant the switch. Benefits of using DURALITE include:
- Reduced cycle times
- Produces cleaner parts
- Finished more parts per pound - you get more value for your money
- Settles out/easier to treat
- Poses no environmental disposal problems
- Cuts water consumption
