Edmund Optics Introduces Introduces GigE CMOS Machine Vision Cameras

One of the smallest GigE Cameras available on the market

July 29, 2009, Barrington, N.J. - Edmund Optics (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces their GigE CMOS Machine Vision Cameras. The progressive scan cameras feature an adjustable frame rate via binning, subsampling or AOI. They are packaged in an ultra-compact housing, making them one of the smallest GigE machine vision cameras on the market. The reduced size footprint makes these cameras ideal for use in locations that may have previously been inaccessible.

Easy-to-use adjustable or automatic settings

Edmund Optics' GigE CMOS Machine Vision Cameras are equipped with a wide variety of features that are designed to make machine vision easy. Each camera includes a software interface that allows users to set up a specified Area of Interest (AOI), gain, exposure time, frame rate, trigger delay and even digital output (flash) delay and duration. The easy-to-use camera allows the user to simply set the exposure, gain and white balance to a specified level or the user can allow the camera to adjust these parameters automatically.

Powerful software interface performs a wide variety of imaging features.

The camera's powerful, proprietary software allows the user to capture still images in JPEG and Bitmap file format or video in AVI format. The software also can perform edge enhancement, image mirroring and image binning, in the vertical directions, as well as hot pixel correction. The camera includes proprietary software, Direct Show (WDM), Active X and TWAIN drivers as well as SDK documentation.

Universal GigE Power Supply

A universal power supply, which is required for operation, features a 1.8 m long cable terminating in a 6-pin Hirose connector. It includes detachable power plugs for use in the United States, Australia, Europe, United Kingdom and Korea. The power supply has an input of 100-240 V with 1.0 A maximum and 50-60 Hz operation. Output is +12 V and 2.0 A with a maximum output power of 24 W. GigE Cables, which are required for operation, and Capture cards are also available.

Edmund Optics' GigE CMOS Machine Vision Cameras are available in both Mono and Color models. Most models are in-stock and available for immediate delivery.
