Navman Wireless Boosts Fleet Tracking Power with M-Nav 750, 1st Commercial-Grade In-Vehicle GPS/Dispatch/Messaging Unit

Ruggedized for Commercial Use; Adds New Features to Reduce Fleet Costs

GLENVIEW, Ill., July 13 /-- Navman Wireless North America today equipped the fleet tracking industry with a more durable, longer-lasting, trucking-specific mobile unit with the M-Nav 750, the first commercial-grade GPS/dispatch/messaging device designed for in-vehicle use. This upgrade to the company's first-generation M-Nav 650 offers all-new ruggedized hardware for long life, an exclusive five-year warranty, vehicle class-based routing, and other industry-first features that enhance the ability of Navman's platform to increase driver productivity and minimize operating costs.

Like its predecessor, the M-Nav 750 enables fleet drivers to receive dispatch instructions, view maps to their next stop, and send messages back to the office on one mobile unit that sits on the vehicle dashboard or windshield. Relevant maps and turn-by-turn directions are displayed automatically when the driver accepts a job. These capabilities help reduce drive time, decrease fuel costs, minimize paperwork, and improve customer service by providing accurate ETAs.

Features new to the M-Nav 750 include:

-- A completely new ruggedized housing and 4.3" anti-glare ruggedized touchscreen engineered to withstand heavy use, eliminating replacement during the contract period. The touchscreen is built for significantly more touches than consumer GPS devices used by other fleet management vendors.

-- Routing based on truck attributes such as length and weight, helping to prevent fines for non-compliance with road regulations.

-- Driver ID functionality enabling automated reporting of drivers' hours as well as analysis of speed, mileage and other attributes by driver.

-- A five-year warranty - five times longer than consumer navigation systems adapted for fleet use - enabled by Navman-controlled manufacturing.

-- A unique smart cradle that eliminates ports, wires and points of failure, instead allowing drivers to simply drop the M-Nav 750 into the cradle to connect.

Other M-Nav 750 features include a top-of-the-line SirfStarIII GPS, RoHS/WEE compliance, and operating temperatures from -10C to +60C.

Pre-built connectivity to other components of the Navman platform - including the OnlineAVL2 desktop-based real-time vehicle tracking and reporting software and the Qube vehicle-mounted tracking device - reduces costs and speeds deployment time by eliminating the need for custom integration via APIs.

"The strength of the M-Nav unit has always been the ability to seamlessly dispatch the nearest vehicle to a job and simultaneously map the route without needing separate devices. This upgrade adds significant new benefits," said Renaat Ver Eecke, Vice President, Navman Wireless North America. "For the first time, fleet managers have a durable unit built to stand up to the harsh commercial vehicle environment, plus new features like vehicle-class routing that can have a tangible impact on the bottom line."

The M-Nav 750 is available on a monthly lease that eliminates the need for upfront capital investment. Monthly fees are as low as $18 per device, depending on unit volume. More information about Navman fleet tracking is available by calling (866) 527-9896 or emailing us.sales@navmanwireless.com
