Cooper Lighting Introduces Halo Eco-Twist(TM) Downlights

ENERGY-STARŪ compact fluorescent downlights accept multiple lamp wattages

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., July 2, 2009 - Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE: CBE), has introduced the Halo Eco-Twist(TM) 5" and 6" aperture multi-wattage compact fluorescent (CFL) downlights. These next generation IC-rated and AIR-TITE(TM) housings utilize a new spiral twist compact fluorescent lamp and multi-wattage ballast system from Osram Sylvania allowing interchangeability of 16W, 21W or 28W lamps in a single housing. Petite in size, the new lamps provide enhanced visual comfort by means of good cutoff, low glare, a warm white color and high color rendering that flatters skin tones, accurately portrays cosmetics and produces vivid reds.

The Halo Eco-Twist downlights, offered in both new construction and remodel housings, accept the energy-saving, low profile, high color "Living Spaces" lamp by Osram Sylvania that features enhanced R9 red for excellent color (86 CRI) and high visual comfort. The lamp's warm color temperature (2700 K) provides an incandescent-like color. Designed to last over 10,000 hours (4-1/2 years at six hours usage per day), the lamps feature a unique TWIST & CLICK(TM) lamp base design that allows for easy interchange of the three lamp wattages to satisfy every downlight application need.

The Eco-Twist(TM) line incorporates this new compact fluorescent technology in insulated ceiling (IC) housings rated for direct contact with ceiling insulation. The housings are also AIR-TITE(TM) to minimize air transfer and save on both heating and air conditioning costs. The downlights meet ENERGY STARŪ and Title 24 High Efficacy compliance standards as well as Washington State and New York State energy codes and the International Energy Conservation Codes High Efficacy compliance.

Designed to allow easy transition from energy-consuming incandescent lamps to the newest generation of energy-saving CFLs, the Eco-Twist downlights are compatible with a wide selection of Halo recessed trims, originally designed for incandescent "A-lamps". The 5" and 6" trims include an array of baffles, reflectors, adjustables, wall wash and shower trim style choices, available in multiple finishes including Halo's high-quality designer metallic finishes Satin Nickel, Satin/Polished Brass, Antique Copper and Tuscan Bronze.
