Henkel Introduces Frekote Rel-Ease for Foundry Operations

Rocky Hill, Conn. - June 23, 2009... Frekote® Rel-Eaze(TM) is a revolutionary new mold release agent developed by Henkel Corporation for releasing sand cores used in foundry operations. This unique Frekote product produces 15 releases per application, providing the potential for significant savings in material, labor, and inventory costs.

Sand cores are used in foundry operations to manufacture highly intricate components including engine blocks from molten metals. In the precision sand casting industry, mold release agents are applied to core boxes to allow hardened sand core molds to eject easily from molding presses. Traditional mold release agents produce just two molds before they must be cleaned and reapplied.

Frekote Rel-Eaze is VOC and organic solvent free. It can be applied at room temperature and cures at ambient shop temperatures within 30 seconds. As it is a low viscosity liquid, a thin coating of Frekote Rel-Eaze can be sprayed on using high volume, low pressure spray systems or wiped on with a clean cotton cloth. When touch up is required, molding may continue immediately after the touchup coat is applied.

Frekote Rel-Eaze is available in one gallon cans, five gallon containers and 55 gallon drums.

For more information on Frekote Rel-Eaze, call 1-800-LOCTITE (1-800-562-8483) or visit http://www.frekote.com.
