SimonsVoss Introduces New Electronic Locks at BOMA Show

SimonsVoss Technologies introduces its newest innovations, the Digital Mortise Cylinder (DMC) and the Digital RIM Cylinder (DRC)at the BOMA trade show June 28-30 in Philadelphia. Both the DMC and DRC seamlessly integrate into an existing SimonsVoss lock system and continue the tradition of a completely wireless access control system with its battery-operated technology and simple installation.

The Digital Mortise Cylinder can be used to add electronic access control to an aluminum storefront door or any application that uses a mechanical mortise cylinder. Instead of a mechanical key that cannot be restricted by time nor tracked when it is used, the user has a single button transponder that communicates wirelessly with the lock through an encrypted challenge/response protocol that prevents the signal from being intercepted or replayed by an unauthorized person. Only when an authorized transponder has been activated does the lock allow the bolt or latch to be moved granting access.

The Digital RIM Cylinder can be used most places a mechanical RIM cylinder is used such as panic bars and deadbolts. The Digital RIM Cylinder comes with an adjustable length tail piece that can be mounted either vertically or horizontally for maximum flexibility.

Installation time is very short with both the DMC and DRC cylinders; simply remove the mechanical cylinder and replace it with this digital cylinder. It has no wires for data or power. The unit runs on two coin-cell batteries which are good for over 150,000 activations. These locks support 8,000 users and keep a record of each use.

Timed operation, optional network and a wide variety of credentials are some of the other features that make these cylinders yet another powerful component of the SimonsVoss access control solution. Visit our Web site (http://www.simons-voss.us) to experience the beauty of a keyless world.

SimonsVoss Technologies, AG was founded in Munich, Germany in 1995. The concept of access control miniaturized to fit within the handle of a door and extended to integration with building system products, all connected with a powerful communications network, proved to be a winning combination. With its success in Europe, SimonsVoss soon looked to provide this solution to the rest of the world.

SimonsVoss Technologies, Inc was formed in the United States in 2006. Combining the same advanced technology modified for North American hardware with old-fashioned ideas of service and customer support allows us to provide security solutions previously not possible. Centrally located in Franklin, Wisconsin, SimonsVoss has a nation-wide network of suppliers waiting to meet your security needs.
