Baxa Corporation Releases IntelliFlowRx(TM) Upgrades
New release of the IntelliFlowRx workflow management system provides significant operational enhancements and new capabilities
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., June 17 /-- Baxa Corporation announces the release of upgrades to its IntelliFlowRx workflow management system. IntelliFlowRx is designed to improve safety and accuracy in pharmacy-based IV admixture preparation. The system also streamlines compliance with sterile preparation regulatory steps while improving visibility to and oversight of IV room operations.
The latest upgrade adds a number of features to the IntelliFlowRx System, including the ability to define specific workflows for different types of doses within the health-system pharmacy, i.e., preparation modes and drug delivery routes - enabling customers to prepare oral liquid doses using IntelliFlowRx. In addition, the system can now manage "dose kitting" processes for pharmacies that assemble sets of doses and their specific ingredients outside of their IV room. The upgrade also provides audio alerts that inform pharmacy technicians of potential errors or discrepancies, which can improve production efficiency and reduce the opportunity for medication errors.

In its first year of full production use, IntelliFlowRx has processed nearly a half million doses and serves more than 1,000 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Additional upgrades to the IntelliFlowRx Software are anticipated in the latter part of the year that will integrate the program with existing Baxa automation for more seamless management of health-system pharmacy workflow.
