D-M-E CounterView Precisely Monitors Mold Operation, Validates Data

International product launch at NPE 2009, West Hall Booth # 103000

Madison Heights, Mich. - Plastics processors can now proactively monitor mold activity with the new D-M-E CounterView Mold Counter. Using a non-resettable, mechanical, 7-digit counter to record the accurate number of mold cycles, the D-M-E CounterView relies on a sensor that detects when the mold has closed. Each mold cycle triggers the display to increase or decrease the counting mechanism based on user preference, for precise, reliable data.

In addition to accurate mold monitoring, the D-M-E CounterView validates process monitoring data and assists mold maintenance procedures. Easily mounted to accommodate changeovers for different mold insert heights, the D-M-E CounterView has a maximum operating temperature of 250º F. The product offers internal, external and parting-line mount options for application flexibility, is available in both inch and metric standards and features a glass-filled nylon housing for rugged durability.

Customers who purchase the D-M-E CounterView will find a unique serial number on the front face of the unit. Tied to this number is a unique URL - or pathname - that is used to access a tooling database for molding and die casting professionals around the globe. The website (www.MoldMonitor.com) allows users to view information regarding specific tools at any time.

"Since the D-M-E CounterView stays with the tool, users can access MoldMonitor.com for data sharing for the entire life of the tool," said Chuck Azzopardi, D-M-E Global Business Manager for Mold Bases and Components. "Users can even view the status of multiple tools in different plants, and organize documents related to the tool - all from one convenient web site."

MoldMonitor.com can be used by anyone granted access rights by the tool's administrator. As part of being a more essential resource, D-M-E offers access to the easy-to-use site for free to its CounterView customers. Requiring only internet access and a web browser, customers may choose to store their tool files on a company intranet, network, or FTP site, or may also use one of D-M-E's secure servers to house all documents.

D-M-E Company is an essential mold technologies resource to customers worldwide. Through aggressive new product development, global product standardization and a powerful combination of in-house manufacturing centers of excellence and strategic global partnerships, D-M-E is helping customers succeed in changing times. The company's standard-setting, comprehensive product line-including hot runner systems; control systems; mold bases and components; mold making and molding supplies; and cold runner systems for elastomers - is backed by expert technical service every step of the way. A subsidiary of Milacron, Inc., D-M-E also manufactures and sells standard tooling for the die-casting industry. Visit www.dme.net for more information.
