Dynamometer measures forces up to 10 kN.

June 18, 2009 - Featuring overall height of 32 mm and 95 x 105 mm cover plate, Type 9129AA measures 3 components of resultant force vector and 3 components of resultant moment vector. Dynamometer is based on piezoelectric sensor system, which measures forces with virtually no displacement. Together with Type 5070A charge amplifier and DynoWare software Type 2825A, unit is suited for multi-component force measurement in confined spaces as well as measurement of machining forces in milling and grinding.

Multicomponent Dynamometer for Forces up to 10 kN

New dynamometer Type 9129AA from Kistler Instrumente AG has an impressively low
overall height of 32 mm and large measuring range of up to ±10 kN replaces the Compact-Dyn Type 9254. The cover plate is 95x105 mm in size. The dynamometer is used for measuring the three components of the resultant force vector and the three components of the resultant moment vector. The measurement signals of the four integral force sensors are taken to the 9-pin flange connector.

The special design of the dynamometer minimizes temperature error. The piezoelectric sensor system on which this measuring system is based measures the forces with virtually no displacement. Ground loop problems are largely avoided by ground isolated mounting of the sensors. Provided cable Type 1687B... for 3-component force measurement or Type 1677A... for 6-component force/moment measurement is used, the corrosion-resistant dynamometer is protected against ingress of fluids to IP67.

Together with Kistler charge amplifier Type 5070A and DynoWare software Type 2825A,
this dynamometer is ideal for general multicomponent force measurement in confined
spaces as well as measurement of the machining forces involved in milling and grinding.
Workpieces or clamping devices can be mounted on the cover plate provided with tapped
holes with a minimum of manipulation.

Modular 3-component system Type 9129A, which is based on dynamometer Type 9129AA,
was developed for measuring the machining forces involved in turning. This system allows measurement of the three machining forces (cutting Force (Fc), feed force (Ff) and passive force (Fp)) generated during boring and outside turning. Various lathe adapters for turrets and adapter sizes are also available.

Kistler Group

Kistler's core competence is the development, production and use of sensors for measuring pressure, force, torque and acceleration. Kistler's know-how and electronic systems can be used to prepare measuring signals for use in analyzing physical processes, controlling and optimizing industrial processes, improving product quality in manufacturing and improving performance in sports and rehabilitation.

Kistler offers a comprehensive range of sensors and systems for engine development, automotive engineering, plastics and metal processing, installation technology and biomechanics.

A worldwide sales presence in the form of 25 group companies and 30 distributors ensures customer proximity, application support on an individual level and short lead times.

With a staff of 1 000, the Kistler Group is one of the world's leading providers of dynamic measuring instrumentation. The Kistler Group achieved turnover of 215 million Swiss Francs in the 2008 financial year.
