Siemens Enterprise Communications Announces New Release of HiPath® 4000 Designed to Reduce Costs and Simplify UC Adoption
Popular Converged Communication Solution Leverages Existing Assets While Delivering On OpenPath Commitment to Help Future-proof Investment; Adds Small Branch Options
BOCA RATON, Fla., June 2 -- Siemens Enterprise Communications Group today announced availability of HiPath 4000 V5, its converged communication solution for medium- to large-sized enterprises. The new release includes support for video integration and OpenScape Xpressions(R), an all-in-one, easy to deploy UC solution. These features are designed to provide hard dollar savings by helping to minimize the need for business travel and reduce conferencing costs, while increasing productivity and collaboration. In keeping with the company's commitment to OpenPath(R) future extensibility, HiPath 4000 also takes advantage of open standards to integrate into existing TDM and IP-based environments, while providing software-based migration to UC, further protecting existing investments and lowering TCO.
In today's challenging economic climate, enterprises have to make the best use of their investments in communications infrastructure, while positioning for future growth. The HiPath 4000 is designed to provide organizations with the most choices to leverage existing assets, while adopting new technologies at their own pace. Designed with easy-to-use management applications, mobility choices, UC options and IP connectivity, this solution can provide enterprises with business process and workflow integration, security, performance and more cost-effective communication choices.
HiPath 4000 also now adds a new software application called the HiPath 4000 SoftGate, which is designed to manage Cornet-IP and SIP-based telephone deployments, delivering feature-rich yet more cost-effective IP-based communication throughout the enterprise, including small branch offices. It also includes signaling and payload separation, helping to conserve bandwidth costs. Other features include:
-- Small branch software solutions, running on standard server hardware
-- Easy, lower-cost management, operating on Linux
-- Choices in endpoints: IP-users (Cornet-IP and SIP)
-- Choices in PSTN and SIP-trunking connectivity (SIP-Q and native SIP)
"HiPath 4000 is a proven converged communication solution based on open standards that is designed to give enterprises the most options to meet core business demands and adopt new communications technologies," said Eve Aretakis, Executive Vice President Product Management & Development, Siemens Enterprise Communications. "Businesses can now deploy software-based IP technology in the branch office and UC in the enterprise to experience all the benefits at their own pace."
