Electronic Notebook Software helps replace paper in labs.
May 26, 2009 -
While functionality is enhanced via UI and AJAX technology, LABTrack v4 supports drag-and-drop operations for embedded files between notebook pages - even in different notebooks - to facilitate external data management. Integration lets users view/edit embedded MS Office files directly on notebook pages, which can be associated with experiments, projects, bookmarks, and custom titles. Query builder, also included, lets users mine and export data from notebook pages.

"LABTrack Version 4 is easier to use and more flexible than any competing product on the market." said Richard Stember, CEO of LABTrack, LLC. "Using advanced .NET AJAX programming techniques we have provided a richer user interface, more powerful searching functions and other capabilities that together offer the best replacement for paper in the lab. This is the new standard that other ELN products will have a hard time matching."
New Features Include:
Tighter Microsoft Office Integration - View and edit embedded Microsoft Office files right on the notebook page. Saving edited files is accomplished with a single mouse click. Users can even create and embed Office files "on the fly".
Drag 'n Drop Files - Drag n' drop embedded files between notebook pages even in different notebooks. Incorporating and managing external data has never been easier.
Experiment Management - LABTrack's notebook data structure has been expanded to allow pages to be associated with Experiments, Projects, Bookmarks and custom Titles.
New Table of Contents - Notebook pages can now be sorted by Page #, Project, Experiment, Title and user defined Bookmarks.
Notebook Data Mining - A powerful easy to use query builder has been added that allows users to truly mine the data contained within their notebook pages. Users can query against page content, meta data, and field data from user defined templates. With one click users can export the query results directly to Microsoft Excel and other applications.
