Comprised of integrated service solutions, platform helps network administrators reduce system downtime and improve efficiency of network maintenance. SMC Networks' TigerAccess(TM) Managed Services Platforms Enable Solution Providers to Increase Margins by Adding Value and Quality to Their Support Services While Minimizing Onsite Service Requirements

LAS VEGAS, May 20 -- SMC Networks, a leading provider of advanced, high performance networking solutions for the SMB and enterprise markets, today announced at Interop Las Vegas 2009 (booth #969) it is now shipping its TigerAccess(TM) Managed Services Platform (MSP) family of integrated service solutions. The TigerAccess MSP enables VARs and IT administrators to remotely and securely monitor and manage their networks from anywhere in the world through a standard Web browser.

SMC's TigerAccess MSP, which enables network administrators to reduce system downtime and improve the efficiency of network maintenance, is available through the purchase of a service level agreement. Depending upon the level of agreement purchased, the user also receives a network management appliance that enables the network administrator to remotely monitor the status of network devices.

Service level agreements available initially are:
-- SMCMON111-0 - Monitoring and Reporting of Network Devices
-- SMCMON111-5 - Monitoring and Report of Network Devices with 5 Client Agents included
-- SMCMAN122-5 - Monitoring and Management of Network Devices with 5 Client Agents included
-- SMCMAN122-20 - Monitoring and Management of Network Devices with 20 Client Agents included

About the TigerAccess Managed Services Platform

The TigerAccess MSP gives VARs and IT administrators the ability to remotely monitor and their networks and provides them with a host of capabilities that maximize the efficiency of network maintenance. Some of the time-saving, value-added features and functionality provided through the TigerAccess MSP includes:

-- SMC Service portal allows administrators to visually monitor multiple devices and networks simultaneously via a secure browser-based interface;
-- Receive alerts on potential issues or equipment failures;
-- Perform comprehensive asset management through automatic hardware and software audits;
-- Automatically deploy firmware updates to SMC managed network devices;
-- Conduct patch management on client PCs;
-- Monitor equipment status including the discovery of new devices on the network.

In addition to providing the ability to remotely monitor and control SMC managed switches at clients' sites, the versatile TigerAccess MSP further minimizes the need for on-site network support by providing administrators with the ability to access network computers remotely enabling them to configure, control and transfer files between local and remote computers.
