DAC Modules allow engineers to customize ATE systems.

June 2, 2009 - Model SMP3620 is high-density DAC with 24-channels/plug-in with programmable outputs from 0-35 Vdc, while SMP3625 provides 16 channels of 70 V peak-to-peak 400 Hz output. Interfacing to VXIbus, SMP7000 allows engineers to add custom circuits to system designs. All provide ability to mix and match signal switching and analog output and multiple functions can be accommodated in 1- or 2-slot carriers. Units are suited for testing avionics subassemblies.

New VXIbus Modules Enable Customization and Increased Flexibility of ATE Systems

Irvine, CA May 18, 2009 VTI Instruments Corporation announced today the release of three new modules for use on the VXIbus platform. The SMP3620, SMP3625 and SMP7000 increase the flexibility of VTI's popular SMIP product family by including analog output (0 35 V) and custom breadboard design capabilities.

The SMIP series' ability to mix and match signal switching and analog output in a modular VXI architecture is a unique feature that is unmatched by similar platforms. The new modules offer increased flexibility for test system designers by adding custom development options on a COTS platform and high-density digital-to-analog converters suitable for testing avionics subassemblies.

VTI's SMIP series has set the standard for modular, high-density switching in demanding mil/aero applications that range from DC to light, said Tom Sarfi, Business Development Manager. Because of the SMIP's modular architecture, multiple functions can be accommodated in either one- or two-slot carriers. These new modules bring increased functionality to the SMIP product family that can further optimize system footprint and lower overall costs.

The SMP3620 is a high-density digital-to-analog converter with 24 channels per plug-in with programmable outputs from 0 35 V DC. The SMP3625 provides 16 channels of 70 V peak-to-peak 400 Hz output. The SMP7000 is a breadboard with an interface to the VXIbus that allows engineers to easily add custom circuits to their system designs.
