WAC LIGHTING Introduces Electronic SMART Transformers(TM) That are Compatible with Leading Dimmers

GARDEN CITY, NEW YORK -WAC Lighting's Electronic SMART Transformers (tm) have been designed and engineered for compatibility with the industry's leading dimmers. WAC Lighting, a leading manufacturer and designer of track, recessed, undercabinet, monorail and decorative lighting, develops nearly all of its responsible products in the family owned, ISO 9001-certified manufacturing campus with in-house UL approved testing labs.

WAC Lighting's SMART Transformers (tm) were tested by Lutron and Leviton to ensure compatibility with their most popular dimmer models. The transformer features full-scale dimming on as low as a 25% load along with silent operation.

The safest and smallest transformer in the industry, the SMART Transformer (tm) is compliant with the new UL 2108 safety standard for abnormal short circuit protection. WAC Lighting guarantees a minimum of 8 hours safe operation under the duress of a short circuit. This provides sufficient time to troubleshoot the installation without having to replace the transformer.

The transformers can communicate and differentiate an abnormal short circuit versus a normal short circuit in the system. This enables a quick diagnosis of problem's source. Transformers also include an auto-reset feature, thermal overload protection, and soft-start technology to extend lamp life.

New display boards are available to showcase the SMART Transformers' latest features, with the dimming functions.

SMART Transformers (tm) include Class 2 enclosed electronic transformer models ranging from 60 to 300 watts. Secondary wiring for Class 2 transformers does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques. With the capacity to power most cabinet fixtures, Class 2 transformers are intrinsically safe and permit no greater than 5A current to be drawn.

They are equipped with on/off switches and LED status indicators for each circuit. Solid green light indicates a complete circuit while a slow blinking light indicates an open unused circuit, and a fast blinking light indicates a short circuit problem in that circuit.

UL Listed Class 2 Plug-in 60-watt electronic transformers are also available.

A five-year warranty for all products assures long-lasting performance.
