Verification and Traceability enables effective process control and workflow support through proactive verification of product file settings and traceability to board level. By verifying product file settings, manufacturing is only driven by approved parameters and consumables. System can be configured to halt process, generate warning, or record data. Linking verification data with individual board identity upon entry to print platform, suite delivers fully inline traceability scanning.
DEK Launches Verification & Traceability Software Suite
DEK recently unveiled its brand new Verification & Traceability Software Suite at this year's Apex exhibition in Las Vegas. This innovative technology delivers effective process control and workflow support through proactive verification of product file settings and traceability to board level.
Verification & Traceability from DEK is an important breakthrough for manufacturers working in critical industries such as Automotive and Medical. Fully proofing the print process, the software's verification element prevents incorrect consumables from being used. For example, if the wrong stencil or paste is loaded, the print platform will not run - delivering a major productivity advantage. By proactively verifying product file settings, manufacturing is only driven by approved parameters and consumables. Whereas previously, operators controlled this area, the new system eliminates laborious and error-prone manual cross-checking to ensure consistent quality and throughput. The system can be configured to halt the process, generate a warning or record data for an added level of process flexibility and control.
Seamless traceability to board level is the key to eliminating defects and minimizing product returns, which is why this is at the heart of DEK's new system. Linking verification data with individual board identity upon entry to the print platform, the software delivers fully in-line automatic and robust traceability scanning. Recording effective boards and reject counts, this information is downloadable in industry standard data formats including ASCII. Satisfying the requirements of customers requiring comprehensive record-keeping to boost process compliance and safety, the new software uses direct output from the screen printer to the network to grant manufacturers access to extensive process data at the touch of a button.
"Verification & Traceability is a major breakthrough for us and our customers;" explains DEK Product Manager, Rick Goldsmith. "While the verification element eliminates the potential for human error and costly defects, our traceability module delivers a level of process insight previously unavailable. For example, not only can a circuit board be traced back to the time of manufacture, but operators can also find out which platform was used and with which process parameters. Driven by our next-generation Instinctiv(TM) V9 machine user interface to enable fast, easy set-up and intuitive operator guidance, these capabilities deliver unprecedented process control and ultimately, an enhanced rate of quality and throughput."
