Rotary Position Sensors suit industrial/vehicle applications.
May 8, 2009 -
Designed for harsh environments, SP 5000 Series sensors convert rotary movement into proportional voltage. Housing and bearings are manufactured with high-grade temperature-resistant plastic and units include 3-pin AMP Junior-Timer connector and metal multifinger wiper for contact. Targeting automotive applications with 105 and 120° electrical angle measurements, units offer repeatability of 1.0°, tolerate vibrations to 20 G, and operate in temperatures from -40 to +125°C.
Southborough, MA - Novotechnik's SP 5000 Series rotary position sensors feature easy mounting and availability of custom angles. The customization combined with design for harsh environments make these sensors well suited for many industrial and vehicle applications.
Simplicity of mounting is enabled by mounting holes with brass bushings and a hollow shaft. The housing and bearings are made of a special high-grade temperature- resistant plastic. A 3-pin AMP Junior-Timer connector provides a very reliable interface connection.
The SP 5000 is ideal for automotive applications with 105 and 120-degree electrical angle measurements being standard. Its repeatability is 1.0 degree and a temperature coefficient of the output-to-applied voltage ratio is 15 ppm/K.
The SP 5000 Series is designed to convert rotary movement into a proportional voltage signal based on proven conductive plastic technology. These sensors have been designed to withstand all kinds of harsh and rough environmental influences such as vibrations to 20g, a temperature range of -40 to +125 ˚C, dirt, humidity, as well as proximity to automotive engines. Furthermore, the use of precious metal multi-finger wiper ensures reliable contact even under the most severe working conditions.
The cost of the SP 5000 Series starts at $11 per piece for 1,000 pieces.
