Flux-Cored Wires are optimized for stainless steel work.

May 21, 2009 - UltraCore® FC 308L, 309L, and 316L are designed to provide high deposition rates in flat and horizontal positions, while UltraCore FCP 308L, 309L and 316L offer all-position welding capability. Each is designed to promote arc performance, facilitate slag removal, and produce minimal spatter. Weld deposits feature flat to concave bead profiles and are resistant to stainless steel welding challenges such as hot cracking.

Lincoln Electric Adds New Stainless Flux-Cored Wires to UltraCore® Product Portfolio

UltraCore®Cleveland - Lincoln Electric has expanded its popular UltraCore® line of flux-cored wires to include six stainless wires that provide superior weld performance on a variety of stainless steels. The new wires include:

- UltraCore FC and FCP 308L
- UltraCore FC and FCP 309L
- UltraCore FC and FCP 316L

Whether the application requires increased deposition rates in the flat and horitzontal positions or all-position welding capability, stainless UltraCore allows for high-quality welds from enhanced arc performance, easy slag removal and minimal spatter. Weld deposits feature flat to concave bead profiles and provide high resistance to common stainless steel welding challenges like hot cracking.

UltraCore FC 308L, 309L and 316L are designed to provide high deposition rates in the flat and horizonal positions. UltraCore FCP 308L, 309L and 316L offer all-position welding capability. Wires with a 308L designation are ideal for welding 18/8 stainless steels or other common austenitic grades. Wires with a 309L designation are designed for joining stainless steel to mild or low alloy steel. The 316L designation offers high resistance to corrosion and pitting on molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steels.

Each lot of UltraCore wire is Q2 Lot®-controlled and tested for product consistency. Lincoln Electric's Q2 certificates show actual deposit chemistry and calculated ferrite number. UltraCore stainless wires are packaged in a ProTech® foil bag to eliminate exposure to moisture and increase shelflife.

UltraCore wire is now available at most welding supply stores. For more information, call (888) 355-3213 or visit www.lincolnelectric.com to obtain C6.5.1 for FC and FCP 308L, C6.5.2 for FC and FCP 309L or C6.5.3 for FC and FCP 316L.

The Lincoln Electric Company, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic arc welding systems, fume extraction equipment and plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment. The company holds a leading global position in the brazing and soldering alloys market.
