New Botanithane Line of Environmentally Friendly Packaging Foams
April 29, 2009 - E-Z Flow Foam Systems Inc. of San Diego, CA, is pleased to announce the new Botanithane® line of environmentally friendly packaging foams. As far as we know, this is currently the only green packaging foam available.
Made primarily from renewable resources, with a minimum of petrochemicals, Botanithane is a very light formulation and runs well through all E-Z Flow equipment.
The polyol resin ("B" chemical) is very light, looks somewhat like skim milk, and has a very slight foodlike odor. It mixes well in our E-Z Flow cartridges, rises and cures in about 30 seconds, and provides the same level of cushioning as current petroleum-based chemicals. And viscosity levels are so low for this product that the initial A-rich "cold shot" typical of Foam In Place has been eliminated.
Currently, E-Z Flow offers Botanithane in Green 33 (.33 lb/cu ft), Green 40 (.4 lb/cu ft) and Green 100 (1 lb/cu ft) densities. Soon to come will be Green 50 and Green 75 (.5 and .75 lb/cu ft, respectively).
