New Release of Ventyx Plant Operations Management Software Streamlines Deployment and Eases Management and Use
Version 4 of eSOMS Suite Built on Industry-Standard, Web-Based Platform
ATLANTA, April 28 /-- Ventyx(R), the world's largest private software, data and advisory services provider to the energy and utility industry, today announced availability of version 4 of the Shift Operations Management System (eSOMS(TM)), a new Web-enabled version of the company's leading operations management software suite for power generation, oil & gas/chemical processing and other asset-intensive continuous process industries. This latest release of the eSOMS suite, built on the Microsoft .Net architecture, facilitates more rapid and cost-effective deployment as well as enhanced ease-of-use via a common logon and consistent interface across all modules.
eSOMS Suite is a mission-critical plant operations management application which helps clients ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of their facility assets. eSOMS provides a broad range of operations-centric capabilities including electronic log books, routine operator rounds electronic recording and decision-making guidance, notice of change messaging for change management processes and mobile extensions for most modules, fully eliminating paper information recording in the workspace. Released on the Microsoft .Net platform, version 4 of eSOMS enhances the solution's manageability and cost-effectiveness by enabling centralized installation and management of the software across multiple sites.
The new release offers many advantages to eSOMS Suite clients, including the following:
-- Web-enabled .Net architecture enables centralized deployment and management of the software from the corporate office while offering access to users in multiple plants, from home and on the same mobile platforms used to access previous versions.
-- Common logon to all modules improves ease-of-use and efficiency.

-- Double-byte enablement provides support for multiple languages.
-- Standards-based communications platform ensures investment protection as software continues to be enhanced, as well as facilitates integration to third-party solutions.
A pre-released version of version 4 of eSOMS is currently in production at four client sites. The new generally released version has been delivered and successfully installed at a large, multi-site fossil generation company.
