Hybrid Control regulates condensing/non-condensing boilers.

May 1, 2009 - Mini-MOD-CNC automatically mixes and matches non-condensing boiler operation and condensing boiler operation to optimize efficiency of combined (hybrid) system. It also allows for mixed control of modulating and staging boilers, since condensing boilers typically have modulating burners and non-condensing boilers typically have staging or on/off burners. Control automatically switches to high mass boilers when building heat requirements approach design loads.

New Hybrid Control from Heat-Timer Simultaneously Controls Condensing and Non-Condensing Boilers

A new, HYBRID control from Heat-Timer Corporation called the Mini-MOD-CNC lets owners effectively and efficiently control a boiler system that utilizes both condensing and non-condensing boilers.

The Mini-MOD-CNC automatically mixes and matches non-condensing boiler operation and condensing boiler operation to optimize efficiency of a combined system. It also allows for mixed control of modulating and staging boilers since condensing boilers typically have modulating burners and non-condensing boilers typically have staging or on/off burners. Return on investment is faster because the control automatically switches to high mass boilers when the building heat requirements approach design loads. So high mass boilers operate when they are most efficient (at peak loads) and condensing boilers operate when they are most efficient (at part load).

"This hybrid control helps eliminate the investment barrier that prevents some facilities from implementing condensing boilers," said Vincent Clerico, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Heat-Time Corp. "It is a very significant contribution to the boiler market."

Heat-Timer Corporation manufactures a diverse line of electronic HVAC/R and plumbing controls for commercial, industrial, and residential markets. From simple set point controls to high tech boiler modulating controls and remote communications packages, Heat-Timer has spent 60 years developing products that provide better comfort and control to facilities throughout the United States and Canada.
