Torque Test Systems suit intelligent test applications.
May 1, 2009 -
Comprised of 500, 1,000, and 2,500 Nm models, TFT-HC (high capacity) series utilizes servo motors, precision position sensing feedback technology, and proprietary torque transducers to produce controlled torque inputs and feedback monitoring. Torque Functional Test (TFT) systems, in addition to accurate positioning capabilities, offer speeds up to 200 rpm, 1% FS torque sensor accuracy, and 0.25% torque sensor repeatability.
Promess Adds New Series of High Capacity Models to its Torque Functional Test Systems Offering
Brighton, Mich., April 27, 2009 - Promess, Inc., has announced the addition of high capacity models to its line of Torque Functional Test (TFT) systems intended for intelligent assembly and test applications. The new TFT-HC series will initially include 500 Nm, 1000 Nm, and 2500 Nm models, with others to be added in response to future customer requirements.
In addition to their highly accurate positioning capabilities, TFT-HC units offer one percent fullscale torque sensor accuracy and 0.25 percent torque sensor repeatability. They offer speeds up to 200 rpm. A full range of customized features and standard options are also available.
Promess TFTs utilize servo motors, precision position sensing feedback technology, and extremely accurate, proprietary torque transducers to produce controlled torque inputs and feedback monitoring. They are primarily used in intelligent assembly systems to monitor and control torque inputs to fasteners, measure and set backlash in gear sets, and perform functional tests during and after assembly.
"The TFT-HC series has been engineered to handle the forces encountered in some of industry's most demanding applications," says Promess President Larry Stockline. "A typical application might be using a TFT-HC to simulate the actual loading of automotive or truck drive train components such as axles and differentials.
"The ability to load a component while simultaneously monitoring the resulting behavior can speed up development activities by moving testing from the track to the laboratory. The TFT-HC line has the capacity necessary to make this possible."
Promess is a 25-year-old firm that develops, manufactures, and markets its family of sensing devices, electronics, assembly presses and test systems on a global basis.
