Hendrickson introduces HN® FR - a Landmark Suspension for the Fire and Rescue Industry

WOODRIDGE, Ill. - Hendrickson officials announce the launch of another landmark product to address the unique needs of the fire and rescue industry. Providing an ideal combination of stability, ride quality, light weight, and articulation, the HN® FR family of tandem rubber suspensions delivers exceptional performance to a wide range of fire and rescue vehicles.

Offering a full range of rubber suspensions, the HN FR Series is available exclusively to the fire and rescue industry in tandem capacities of 42,000 lbs., 48,000 lbs., 54,000 lbs., and 58,000 lbs.

The HN FR suspension system utilizes a VariRate® spring system to provide the ideal balance of empty ride quality and loaded stability. Its diagonally-mounted rubber bolster springs act in compression and shear to deliver superior ride quality by dissipating road shock, while its extra wide spring centers and Hytrel® auxiliary springs provide outstanding stability for high center of gravity applications and emergency driving conditions. The system can be tuned to meet the specific needs of unique fire and rescue vehicle applications.

The HN FR family of suspensions was developed using Hendrickson's proven walking-beam design, which equalizes the vehicle load over both axles by allowing the wheels to adjust to uneven terrain through a central pivot point.

No lubrication requirements and the elimination of center beam bushings make the HN FR system virtually maintenance-free.

Recently launched at several fire and rescue OEMs in capacities up to 58,000 lbs., the lightweight HN FR system saves several hundred pounds at higher capacity configurations compared to competitive systems.

Hendrickson's lightweight HN FR Series increases stability, performance and ride quality, making HN FR the ideal rubber suspension for the fire and rescue industry.
