A New Series of G.729, G.729A and G.729AB Speech Codecs from GAO

Toronto, Canada -GAO Research Inc.(www.GAOResearch.com) recently released a performance enhanced version of the G.729 vocoder that complies with ITU-T G.729, Annex A and Annex B. Based on the Code Excited Linear Prediction (CELP). These vocoders operate on 10ms frames with short algorithmic delays and deliver toll quality speech.

GAO's implementation of these vocoders passes all ITU-T test vectors. The voice codecs are multi-channel ready and optimized for performance and are available for most commercial processors. Some applications for GAO's G.729 and G.729A/B vocoders include VoIP, voicemail, wireless communications, video conferencing, media gateway and digital satellite communication systems.

Each vocoder provides for easy integration into other systems, minimal software maintenance and a smooth upgrade path for next-generation customer products. GAO also adheres to stringent quality control procedures, which is reflected in the well structured code, detailed design documentation and well-defined design and test plan.
