Unlicensed professional long-range wireless video links HD27183 and HD27184 allow any IP outdoor PoE-enabled surveillance camera to be installed in remote locations. Requiring 120 Vac at remote location, HD27183 is 2.4 GHz wireless link, and HD27184 is dual-band 2.4/5.8 GHz wireless link that upgrades from 1- to 4-camera solution. Installer only needs to add IP/PoE surveillance cameras to obtain 2-4 mile wireless video link between 2 locations.

HD Communications Corp. - Launches a Series of Complete 2-4 Mile Wireless Video Surveillance Links Starting at $299
HD Communications Corp., a company with expertise in wireless communications dating back to 1976, has introduced a series of unlicensed professional long range wireless video links that start at just $299 for a single-outdoor IP camera wireless link thus allowing surveillance cameras to be installed in remote locations.
RONKONKOMA, N.Y., April 22 -- HD Communications Corp., a company with expertise in wireless communications dating back to 1976, has introduced a series of unlicensed professional long range wireless video links that start at just $299 for a single-camera wireless link. By using any IP outdoor PoE (Power over Ethernet) camera and connecting it to one the new wireless video links HD Communications has developed, surveillance cameras can now be installed in remote locations. "Installing surveillance cameras in remote locations previously required installing a fiber or wireless link to that location. The cost to install those links often reached into the thousands of dollars, which prevented many people from installing cameras where they required them. We now have made those installations possible with our low-cost, high-quality wireless video links requiring only 120 VAC at the remote location," said Don Davis, President and CEO of HD Communications Corp.
These are complete wireless video links that only require the installer to add IP/PoE surveillance cameras to obtain a 2-4 miles wireless video link between two locations. The HD27183 and the HD27184 are the two basic models, however the HD27184 upgrades from a one-camera solution to a four-camera solution. The HD27183 is a 2.4 GHz wireless link and the HD27184 is a dual band 2.4/5.8 GHz wireless link. While wireless video links are not new, what is new is the price point that HD Communications has introduced these wireless video links. "We have complete turn-key solutions for one to four cameras, starting at $299 for the single-camera solution and $569 for a four-camera solution," Davis said.
"The market is ripe for this solution as the cost of IP cameras continues to drop and the average cost of a quality outdoor IP/PoE camera is now around $650 versus this time last year when they averaged about $1100. Adding the cost of their HD27183 wireless video link to the cost of a $650 outdoor IP camera, you have a long-range wireless camera solution for less than $1000. The same solution from other wireless vendors, until now, was $2500 to $4500 plus the cost of an IP camera," Davis added. "Many of those solutions were also at 900 MHz and, while good for penetration through trees and objects, could not deliver high quality video over great distance. The HD27183 and HD27184 series both require line-of-sight and, depending on how many cameras are attached to the link, will then determine the achievable distance from one location to another. Three to four mile links are achievable with good quality video when a single camera is used and one to two mile links when a location has three to four cameras connected to the HD27184-4," Davis stated.
When asked whose cameras HD Communications was recommending Davis stated, "We work with several camera manufacturers and, while we do not sell the cameras, we do try to point the installer in the right direction by recommending known surveillance cameras that other installers have used with our wireless video links during our beta testing period." The company also offers a free design service to help dealers and installers select the right solution and products for their project.
Both the HD27183 and the HD27184 series are currently available for purchase directly from their website, www.wirelessnetworkproducts.com, and also through authorized dealers and installers.
