The LoadMaster 2000 delivers enterprise-level functionality at a price affordable to the SMB

YAPHANK, N.Y., April 20 /-- KEMP Technologies, a leading provider of affordable application delivery optimization and server load balancing for the SMB market, today announced its most groundbreaking product to date, the LoadMaster 2000. As the industry's forerunner in driving the price/performance value proposition for application delivery and load balancing to levels that small-to-medium and mid-size enterprise customers can afford, the LM2000 offers performance and functionality previously unavailable to the SMB market. The LoadMaster 2000 replaces KEMP's LoadMaster 1500, boasting significant hardware platform, performance and functionality improvements.

The LoadMaster 2000 is an advanced, 4 GbE-port server load balancing and Layer 7 content switching appliance with integrated ASIC-based SSL Acceleration and advanced Application Delivery and Optimization (ADC) features. Intelligently and efficiently distributing user traffic among application servers, ensuring users get the best experience possible. Key features are (4) GbE Auto-negotiating, Full Duplex Ethernet Ports, providing up to 300Mbps in balancer throughput, Layer 7 Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), New Application Delivery optimization features including advanced, App-Transparent Caching Engine, Optimized Compression for Static Content and SNORT-Rule Compatible Layer 7 Intrusion Prevention System. The LoadMaster 2000 also features up to 1,000,000 L4 concurrent connections, a 400% increase from its predecessor and a 600% increase in requests per second from the LoadMaster 1500.

"The LoadMaster 2000 brings a groundbreaking change to the server load balancing applications delivery market. Quite simply this level of performance and functionality has never been seen before at this price level," states Peter Melerud, Vice President of Product Management, KEMP Technologies. "Every company using the web for its applications has a need for this appliance but up until now, the cost has been too difficult for the SMB to justify." With the LoadMaster 2000 KEMP continues to aggressively expand its leadership in delivering high-value and affordable products to this segment of the market.

"We have been focused on the needs of the small-to-medium business from our inception," says KEMP President, Kevin Mahon. "In the current economic climate, the accepted solution seems to remove features in order to reduce price, but with the LoadMaster 2000 we wanted to offer more performance and more functionality at a price affordable to a broader range of businesses."

Pricing and Availability

The LoadMaster 2000 is immediately available through KEMP Technologies and its VAR Master resellers. Suggested retail price is US$2,990, including 1st year Gold (Telephone, software updates and hardware replacement) Support agreement.
